Homecoming 2025

On October 4, 2025, Texas Tech Red Raiders claimed an impressive victory over the

University of Houston, defeating the Cougars 35–11 on the road. Quarterback Behren Morton led

a strong offense, while the Raider defense dominated from start to finish. They forced turnovers,

stopped big plays, and kept Houston from scoring in the second half of the game. The energy at

TDECU Stadium was electric, with a strong turnout of Tech fans proudly cheering on their team.

This win marks a powerful statement midway through the season and continues our program’s

momentum toward one of its strongest starts in recent years. Because of the fierce victory against

the Cougars, the Red Raiders shot up in the AP poll into the top 10 at number 9. This is the first

time the Raiders have been ranked that high since 2013, when Texas Tech was 7-0 under first-

year coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Homecoming Week at Texas Tech was filled with excitement, unity, and honored

traditions that brought the Raider community together. On Wednesday, October 8th, numerous

Texas Tech student organizations, fraternities, and sororities showcased their creativity and

school pride during So-Sing. The celebration continued on Thursday as members of the Saddle

Tramps participated in a pallet move, spending the day gathering pallets for the annual

Homecoming Bonfire. Later that day, other members of the organization had the special honor of

collaborating with the Flatland Calvary to wrap the Will Rogers and Soapsuds statue in red. A

cherished Texas Tech tradition symbolizes unity and spirit. On Friday, Saddle Tramps members

built the bonfire and proudly helped lead the annual Homecoming Parade from First Baptist

Church to Urbanovsky Park, where fans lined the roadways, cheering them on. The Pep Rally

followed at the concert venue, where the current president of Saddle Tramps, Mason Fox, was

selected as a finalist for the homecoming king, building anticipation before the Saddle Tramps lit

the bonfire. The night concluded with an unforgettable performance by Flatland Calvary at

Urbanovsky Park, which was an unforgettable experience for all.

Until next week's edition of The Bell Ringer, Wreck’em Tech!
