This past weekend, Texas Tech football played against the Oregon State Beavers. After a 2.5-

hour rain delay, the stadium erupted with energy as the Red Raiders took to the field. Most fans

stayed or came back after the delay was lifted, and the delay made the fans anxious to watch

some good football, so after the game resumed, the crowd was loud and booming through Jones

AT&T Stadium. As a result of this, the Red Raiders pushed through and defeated the Oregon

State Beavers 45-14. This victory propelled Texas Tech up in the AP poll from 20th to 16th, the

highest ranking the Red Raiders have held since November 2013.

In other news, Texas Tech, ranked 17th, will play Utah, ranked 16th, next weekend at 11 am CST

at Utah, and has been chosen for Saturday's Big Noon Kickoff. Being chosen for Big Noon

Kickoff also puts Texas Tech in the national spotlight, giving the Red Raiders a chance to prove

themselves on one of the biggest stages in college football. Fans across the country will be

watching, making it not just a test of skill, but of character and resilience. Currently, both teams

are undefeated, and neither team wants to suffer their first loss. Neither team has faced a really

tough opponent this year, and this game could prove challenging for both. Behren Morton has

been efficient with passing yards during games, but that may be challenged against Utah’s tough

defense.

With Saddle Tramps, there are still lots of changes are happening within the organization.

Starting early this semester, the Tramps received their new white workshirt supplied directly by

the alumni of the organization’s generation donations. Behind the curtain, each committee has

been busy, from planning wrappings with multiple groups, including Flatland Cavalry and Pom

Squad, to working to create easier communication between the past and present members of

Saddle Tramps. Under the leadership of President Mason, the organization is also beginning to

look toward new sponsorship opportunities that could provide the resources Saddle Tramps need

in order to grow their influence and ensure the organization continues to thrive for the future of

Texas Tech University. Whether it’s ringing bells on gameday or building a community

throughout the year, the Saddle Tramps are committed to making their mark both on and off the

field.

Until next week's edition of The Bell Ringer, Wreck em Tech!
