This past Saturday, running back Tahj Brooks led the Raider offense with 117 rushing yards for an average of 4.3 yards per carry. While Brooks was dominating the run game, quarterback Behren Morton led the offense through the air throwing for over 200 yards and two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Tim DeRuyter’s defense played its best outing yet, holding ASU’s Skattebo to only 60 yards and forcing three turnovers. Clinching this win gave Texas Tech its 600th win in program history, and, next week, they will go out to try and clinch their fourth straight win at home.
Special Olympics
This past Friday, Saddle Tramps were given the opportunity to volunteer at the Special Olympics event on tech campus. While volunteering, around 15 of the Tramps performed a multitude of tasks including tearing down, announcing names, and refereeing Bocce games. One of the standout athletes was named Gregory, and he won gold in the Bocce tournament, against over 20 different athletes, defending his title for back-to-back Gold medals. After talking with him for a little, he said he hopes to come back next year to extend his win streak once again.
